Seeing that you currently have a 1060 and are considering upgrading to a 2060 already, it appears that you are already on a 2-3 year upgrade cycle for your GPU. Otherwise, the 2060 would be acceptable for the time being, as long as you aren't planning on holding onto it for very long. A 2070 or 1080 or 1080 Ti is a slightly better investment for this resolution, looking at the longterm. The VRAM on the 2060 could become a bottleneck in certain titles, requiring you to lower settings later on down the line. Then the 2060 will be fine. However, being that you are playing at a relatively high monitor resolution. Unless of course you don't mind upgrading the 2060 in two or so years. Therefore, for your use case, it might be worthwhile saving up a bit extra for a 2070, or grabbing a used GTX 1080 or 1080 Ti instead. While the RTX 2060 will be more than capable of driving your 3440x1440 monitor, the obvious question that becomes apparent, is how long will it be capable of doing that - when considering that it only has 6GB of VRAM. ![]()
